Eventide H90 Harmonizer Review
Based on the legendary H9 architecture, the H90 is a new multi-effect processor developed by Eventide. According to the company, the H90 offers all the studio-level versatility of their renowned H9000 rack unit, but redesigned as a pedal for easier use on the go.
This new product features updated hardware built on Eventide’s latest ARM architecture, and it includes both classic and all-new effects from the H9 unit. On the effects side, you can choose from a wide range of H9 algorithms, combining both old favorites and new additions. For example, the H9 Max pedal features 52 algorithms—including the iconic Blackhole reverb for which Eventide is famous.
The H90 Harmonizer gives musicians the opportunity to bring a powerful multi-effect pedal with them, featuring a user-friendly interface and all the necessary inputs and outputs for seamless integration in both studio and live settings.

Eventide H90 Harmonizer Sound and Effects
With the H90, you’ll discover a wide range of new effects, along with many of the original effects found in Eventide’s H9 unit. Plus, you’ll get access to a brand new polyphonic pitch shifter that can truly transform your playing and produce some fascinating sounds.
The developers are building on their legacy, known for creating some of the best classic guitar effects—especially outstanding tape delays and reverbs. You don’t need to buy every unit separately, since many of those effects are already included in this new device. We highly recommend the H90 to anyone looking for more effects in a single box—this is the unit that delivers exactly that.

I/O Power Design for Eventide H90 Harmonizer
This unit was designed with the player in mind, aiming to inspire creativity in everyone who uses it. Inside, you’ll find some of the best effects available, including top-notch reverbs, delays, and much more.
For inputs and outputs, there are two 1/4″ mono inserts that can be combined into a single stereo insert. This allows you to easily add various outboard effects and other gear to enhance your sound. Additionally, thanks to its dual mode, the unit lets you process two separate stereo instruments at the same time, giving you even greater flexibility.
H90 Connectivity
When it comes to connectivity, the H90 has made impressive progress. One of the most interesting features is the ability to process two separate channels independently, thanks to its four inputs and four outputs—which is amazing. The unit supports both line level and instrument inputs, making it perfect for synthesizers and other keyboards as well. On top of that, the dual mono inserts can be added anywhere in the signal chain, allowing for seamless integration of any additional equipment you want to connect.
The unit also supports auxiliary switches and CV signals, which can be controlled via two expression pedal inputs located on the back of the unit. You’ll also find 5-pin DIN and MIDI inputs, making it easy to connect any other MIDI device. The H90 comes with control software that offers some really interesting capabilities through its USB-C port. And, not to forget, there’s a built-in tuner included in this box as well.

H90 Features
When it comes to features, we can confidently say that this unit is one of the most powerful effect processors built on the ARM Architecture. Thanks to this, the effects produced by this unit deliver outstanding results that are sure to meet every user’s needs.
With the proprietary SIFT (Spectral Instantaneous Frequency Tracking) technology, this unit enables next-generation effects for the first time. This makes live performance easier than ever, especially when using the harmonizer!
To give users a more hands-on experience, the front panel features five push knobs, seven LED buttons, and a high-resolution OLED display.
Additionally, there are six programmable foot switches in perform mode. These can be used for tapping tempo, bypassing effects, triggering pitch flexes, repeating delays, or freezing reverbs with your current signal.
Key Features:
- This unit features 62 effect algorithms and comes loaded with hundreds of preset programs.
- It includes all 52 effect algorithms from the H9 Max Harmonizer, now enhanced with upgraded features and improvements over the previous model.
- You’ll also get 10 brand-new effect algorithms: Polyphony, Prism Shift, Bouquet Delay, Head Space, Weedwacker, Even-vibe, Wormhole, Instant Flanger, Instant Phaser, and SP2016 Reverb.

- Switch easily between instrument or line-level operation.
- There are two mono inserts or a single stereo insert, each of which can be placed anywhere in the effects chain.
- Dual mode lets you process two independent stereo signals at once—pretty cool, right?
- Five push-turn knobs make controlling the unit easier than ever.
- You get two expression inputs for pedals, support for up to three-button auxiliary switches, and the ability to use CV signals.
- The H90 Control software lets you edit programs, create lists, and update firmware on your Mac or PC.

Why Do You Need the H90 from Eventide
The first thing you’ll notice is the striking white color of this unit—it really stands out and grabs your attention. That’s just the beginning when it comes to its appearance. Another great feature is the variety of cool effects you can find, whether you’re a guitar player or play another instrument.
This unit is definitely worth adding to your collection because it offers so much in one box—it’s hard to measure just how much value you get. The only downside is the price, as it isn’t a budget-friendly option and costs more than a typical guitar pedal. But that’s because this isn’t just an ordinary pedal; it packs the power of six or seven separate pedals into one, making it far more versatile than standard options.
Conclusion
To be honest, this is the first true successor to the H9000 from Eventide, and we’re thrilled to finally see it released. After such a long wait, it’s now available! There’s really nothing more we can say about this pedal except that it’s worth experiencing for yourself. If you get the chance, we highly recommend trying it out at your local store. We’re confident you’ll be impressed and will want to take it home right away!

Hey you need to fix your H90 review. Some mistakes going on.
Under H90 features section you wrote H9000, when it should have been H90
In the negatives section at the bottom you wrote one algorithm at a time when that’s not true. The H90 can do 2 algorithms at a time.
Oh and under conclusion you wrote “The first demos sound fantastic. Significant, clear, and high-quality, as we have come to expect from the H9”
You meant H90, not H9.
Hi Brockstar,
Thanks for noticing! All the points were updated accordingly.

How good is this H90 for bass
Hi Shannon,
With the H90 being a unit that adds various modular and time-based effects, I believe that it won’t add much quality to a bass guitar, since the bass requires very minimal processing. On the other hand, if you want to experiment with it, this is the right unit for that purpose. Hope this helps!
