Eve Audio SC307 Review: Get your Studio Speakers on Budget!

Eve Audio SC307 Review

For such a young company, EVE offers an impressive range of monitors. Out of the 12 models in their lineup, the SC307 sits just two steps below the largest, the four-way SC408. The SC307 is also the bigger of the two three-way monitors in the series.

If you’ve read any other reviews of their speakers, you might know that EVE was founded by Roland Stenz, the former CEO and designer at ADAM.

“The 307s are beautifully constructed, with a pleasing and warm texture.”

  • Fiberglass coated honeycomb membrane
  • Amplifier (PWM): 2 x 100 W, 1x 50 W
  • Frequency range (-3 dB): 40 – 21.000 Hz

The front panel is simple, featuring two symmetrical 6.5-inch drivers, a central ribbon tweeter, and a multi-function DSP control. All of the bass ports are located on the back of the speaker, along with the audio and power connectors. You’ll also find three dip switches on the rear for additional DSP control.

The Eve Audio SC307 uses the proprietary AMT RS2 tweeter, which features a larger front plate and a bigger internal magnet. This allows the AMT tweeter to perform with greater efficiency. You won’t have to worry about setting up the Eve Audio SC307 correctly in your room or studio—Eve Audio’s DSP section helps you assign each speaker to the left or right side, ensuring perfect symmetry. With the DIP switch on the back, you can easily adjust sound and placement to suit your needs.

Eve Audio SC307 Build

The stereo image is extremely wide—much more so than other three-way speakers. The dynamic response is impressive. The ribbon tweeter is more direct than Adam’s but very precise, with an excellent response even in the lows. With the 307, you can easily go without a subwoofer.

In a three-way system, each driver (woofer or tweeter) has its own amplifier. Of the two woofers, one handles frequencies up to 300 Hz, serving as the “bass.” The other covers a wider range as a bass-midrange, up to 3000 Hz. From there, the AMT tweeter takes over. This setup minimizes interference between drivers and allows the SC307 to deliver a very efficient and dynamic sound.

The design philosophy here is that each speaker covers a specific frequency range but still blends together as a whole. This results in less mechanical inertia and more efficient sound transmission.

Both woofers are 6.5″ Silverstone models—the same used in the two-way SC207. They also feature a sophisticated, low-distortion copper cap magnet system. Because both woofers operate together, you get an extended frequency response that reaches down to 40 Hz.

Conclusion

In the end, the 307s are truly a great set of speakers. Their sound leans toward warm and smooth, making them ideal for both close and midfield monitoring. They offer impressive detail and have quickly become a favorite among audio professionals.

If you ever have doubts about a particular item, be sure to do thorough research—compare its features and statistics with other monitors, and make your final decision based on your needs. It’s simple: smaller speakers work best in smaller rooms, while larger speakers are better suited for bigger spaces. The 307s are perfect for a medium-sized room, like your home studio. They’ll become a reliable partner in your audio work, and once you get used to them, you’ll appreciate them even more!
