Austrian Audio Hi-X60 Review!
Welcome back for another review! Today, we’re taking a closer look at the Austrian Audio Hi-X60 headphones—a closed-back model that’s great for just about anything. Whether you’re tracking, mixing, or even DJing, these headphones deliver. With their 44mm driver and ring magnet, they truly stand out in headphone technology!
The design is excellent—sturdy, reliable, and comfortable. The impressive airflow creates a natural feel while you’re wearing them, so you won’t experience quick fatigue or headaches like you might with other noise-cancelling models. Thanks to the ring magnet and copper-clad aluminum membrane, the headphones respond quickly to the audio signals, giving you a fast and accurate listening experience. I use them almost every day and I have no complaints—they’re truly a pleasure to own.

Hi-X60 Packaging and Build Design
The packaging is excellent and includes everything you need. You get two cables of different lengths, so you can choose whichever suits your needs best—something I’ve never seen offered by other brands. There’s also a screw adapter, a nice cloth bag for the headphones, plus all the manuals and stickers.
When you take the Hi-X60 out of the box, you’ll notice how professionally and carefully they’re made, clearly designed to satisfy the buyer—which is the ultimate goal of any developer. They have a sleek matte finish and look so elegant that you can easily wear them outside.
The Austrian Audio Hi-X60 features metal parts for durability, including the headband and ear cups, ensuring the headphones will last a long time. Another great feature is the ability to rotate the ear cups 90 degrees, which is perfect for DJing and makes them more portable—great for traveling and saving space.
With the two included cables, you can pick the right one for different situations and for greater mobility. Connecting the cable to the headphones is easy and secure, thanks to a simple 8-turn mechanism that prevents the cable from accidentally disconnecting.
The headband is very soft and comfortable, as shown in the images below, and won’t leave a dent on your head after long periods of use. They’re a pleasure to wear, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking to take their listening experience to the next level with a closed-back set. The Hi-X60 is perfect for everyone, regardless of their intended use or experience level.

Hi-X60 Sound and Features
When it comes to sound quality, I guarantee you’ll be satisfied. You’ll experience both deep bass and clear, impressive highs. Everything is perfectly balanced, so there’s no need for any calibration software—these headphones sound great right out of the box!
Even if the vocals don’t jump right to the front of the mix, you’ll be able to hear every detail in both male and female voices. This is fantastic, as you can easily pick out the original mix and balance between elements—an essential feature for mixing.
Another great thing about this headphone set is its pronounced treble, making it versatile for any use. Every frequency is carefully tuned, with no unexpected dips or peaks. This results in a natural sound, which is truly rare these days.
The Hi-X60 has a sensitivity of 110 dB/mW and a low impedance of just 25 ohms. This means you can easily power them with just a mobile phone, without needing an amplifier to get excellent sound. Of course, if you want to enhance the sound quality even further, you can try them with an amp, but that’s entirely up to your personal preference.

Why You Need the Hi-X60 Headphones
We really like these headphones because they are excellent for tracking and referencing—not just for one pair, but for several different models. In addition to their impressive sound quality, they offer strong noise cancellation. We were completely isolated from outside noise, making them perfect for DJing, which is where I use them the most.
One feature we didn’t expect from these closed-back headphones is the swiveling ear cups. Now, besides using them in the studio, I love taking them out for strolls or at private parties where I still DJ. These are great headphones from a great brand—I can’t recommend them enough!
Conclusion
To be completely honest, we expected nothing less from these headphones. They’re perfect for everything a musician needs in the studio. You can use them for any purpose without needing a second pair for different tasks, which is a fantastic way to save money. After all, no one wants to spend more than necessary.
